A77 frame reset

Been using the camera today and after frame DSC09999 it didn't use 10000 as I expected but reset to DSC00001 and started a new folder. Why bother with the extra zero when they don't use it or is that a hangover from the 8 digit DOS filenames?

That's the way it is Mike, and that goes to all models. If you want to take out that additional non-usable 0, then switch to AdobeRGB profile and you'll have _DSC0001 till _DSC9999 (again 8 digits)...
That's something Sony should address, I don't think it's much of an issue.
