Yes the Church dates from the 4th Century. Of course adjacent to it and stuck to it are newer Church constructions dating from the 7th and 13th centuries. The inside was quite dim, but the SSS of the A700 along with the new FW 4 and high ISO performed very well.

Interesting picture Doc. Looks like 1700 years of history just in the wall detail. Any more pics of the interior/exterior?

Do look at the floor, the basalt stones are worn by time. An ideal setup for future Indiana Jones movies.

More interesting shots Doc, thanks for posting. Think of the worshippers feet that have passed over that basalt floor over the hundreds and hundreds of years. The shots look good even at 1600.
