Old Bridge

Unread post by Dr. Harout »

The bridge is quite old, very very old in fact. And if whatever the people say is true, then it dates back to around the first century BC. They call it "Lucullus' Bridge", because it was from here that the famous Roman general attacked the capital of Armenia Artashat (at that time).
If history is interesting then here's a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucullus

As for the bridge...

Very interesting Doc. I can imagine the studded sandals of the Roman soldiers tramping across the bridge. It looks like some repairs are required in the middle? Is there a very straight road from the bridge in true Roman style?

Nothing is left from the entourage, just a pathway.

Weedkiller needed, before those roots break up the stones and there is no bridge left! Just goes show - we could not do it today with men, horses and bits of wood as our only help. But they could do it then. We have lost something.
