A ship in the city

Unread post by Dr. Harout »

The title doesn't say much, specially for those who live in big cities with sea/ocean or big river. But for Yerevan, that would be completely odd. No sea, no ocean nor a big river to host ships.
It was on an event on June 20. A replica of a XIII century Armenian merchant sailing ship named "Cilicia" was "docked" in the center of Yerevan as an act to persuade our unwilling government to fund a project for sustaining the ship and its museum. A well known Russian singer voluntarily participated with an open air concert and contribution.
I made a quick jump on the ship and took some photos (wasn't prepared... but that's not an alibi).
Meanwhile do make a googling or visit the following site: http://ayas.am/
Oh, I forgot to mention that the ship set sail to the Atlantic.

There always seems to be so much heritage to preserve and so little money to do it with. This is a ver interesting story.
