New Year Sunset

A lovely start to the year, weather-wise, here. Blue skies all day. These shots were taken just down the road from where I live. A New Year sunset, looking over the (river) Severn, and toward the Malvern Hills. Herefordshire Beacon on the left, and Worcestershire Beacon on the right.

David - that is some display! I'm a bit of a "Grinch" when it comes to outside decorations (a holly wreath is it for us), but it is fun to see other peoples, especially those that really go to town. It seems to really get to some people and they add more each year. I am a bit worried that the street where we live will get a petition up one year to insist that we do something - just about the only dark house front left now .

I wish I was at home taking photographs today, but sadly at work in the SW of UK. Worcester has finally had its snow and it looks very pretty on the news pictures. I only have my compact with me and I was so looking forward to trying some snow shots for the first time with a dslr. May be the snow will last until the weekend when I get home..
