The valley of pylons. It actually is not a valley really; it just looks so due
to the compressed perspective of the 400 mm telephoto lens (actually
of the long viewing distance that the telephoto lens brings along).

Sony A900, Minolta AF Apo HS 400 mm 1:4.5 G
400 mm, f/11, 1/250 s, ISO 160/23°, polariser, tripod
Capture-sharpened fairly heavily in ACR 5.5 using
Amount = 50, Radius = 2.0, to bring out the special
rendition of the heat waves (hardly visible in web size).

Olaf;
Pretty interesting in making me think how 'energy', while so vital also has a way of intimidating through the methods it's transferred to our finger tips for our convenience...The pylons look no less dangerous than an amy of ill-functioning marching robots...
Thanks
Shirley;
First entry for this topic with a road dividing the valley into two...Lovely cascading hills in different shades ..
Thanks
Yildiz

Here is the Kanawha Valley in West Virginia, taken shortly after a storm in June of 2009, with moisture still rising off of the hills.
