Welcome to a new challenge everybody!

Launching itself onto the back of a strong wind, it travels like the mighty powerful sculptor god in its aqueous vapor outfit and loaded with artistry, pours down countless chiseling heavy drops to shape the terrain into unprecedented glory that photographers thrive in : it’s rain.

We’ll look for raincraft in this challenge: any way the rain influenced the prominent shapes of the terrain, by way of colour, layering, elevating, carving, beating, floading, bleaching, saturating, freezing...

Well- I guess I'll be the first to go here. I shot this today after work at my son and my 'Top Secret Shooting Location', an abandoned quarry near home. (hardly anybody knows it exists!) I have a few more ideas, but not the time to work them out yet. C&C welcome as always. John

Thanks for giving the start.

The concept of the challenge is any piece of land formation that was formed through years by way of receiving rain and being exposed to the elements. The Grand Canyon is a good example for this kind of land formation...

I thought I should give more info to help with the 'thinking' part!

I'm with you now. A much broader scope. I guess I was a little to 'liberal' with my interpretation!

Ok here is a 'strict' interpretation of the challenge... This is Lighthouse Rock in Palo Duro Canyon Texas. My son and I went there in January for a shooting expedition. Sorry about the smallish size, I shot it using my Maxxum 8000i and Fuji Reala film. It is a lo-res scan of the negative.. C&C welcome. John

That's indeed a lighthouse... And that's indeed a valley with hills, all shaped with the impact of rain water and winds...those are some nice colourful layers showing thousands of years' formation.

I can only agree with the above views, excellent photographers for this kind of challenge...

Elisha, I can be wrong due to my not knowing the area but the horizon where the sky meets the water seems to be tilted...or is this a river where there are suprising curves which can add different angular aspects to the frame?

But the place and the texture on that piece of enduring rock is beautiful!
