This is an open discussion thread where you can share your thoughts on photo challenges and what it makes you think.
Photographers are human beings...at least until we come across other creatures that will use cameras as efficiently as human beings.
Photographers perceive and handle their subjects differently even when shooting the exact same subject / object. And that's exactly why setting a challenge topic for photos causes the juices of creativity to flow differently while triggering a certain metality to accompany the whole process.
In the constraint of the limited time a challenge allows, the mind works at a different pace that induces creative thinking while any other photo thread comprises those photos we shoot at the comfort of our own making and pace without the demands of an outer motive.
Therefore, a photo challenge is more about learning about one's own self and shooting than competing with an other's photo/style and there's no need to be reluctant to be part of one.
What really matters is, we suddenly start contemplating on our photo in the course of a different mental stream. : )
And we learn...and have fun...because learning can be fun too!
Please don't hesitate to share your thoughts and views....
