Thank you Tony and at the end of the day they are an expression of you and your vision. And that's all that matters,
right?
I love the multicolor tree. Your most favorite one would have been nicer, IMHO, if the slats were not there and it is
simply a high key affair. And then with this mere opinion I contradict my previous comment.

Here are some autumn images from the town in which I was born and grew up.
Taken with my A700 and a Minolta Maxxum 28-75 F:2.8 lens.
FWIW, in the second and third images the background goes away because of the presence of fog over the trees on the hillside, not due to any post-processing "artwork".

1/50 second, f:5.6, ISO 640, 50mm focal length
1/100 second, f:8.0, ISO 320, 30mm focal length
1/250 second, f:8.0, ISO 320, 30mm focal length

These are gorgeous, UrsaMajor.
Thanks for the explanation on the natural fade-out of the background due to fog. Hard to miss... : ) And also glad that there's camera and lens information which aids on visualization of how the approach was to the shooting of the photos. Glad to see that A700 is still a camera that receives some attention is functioning perfectly good.
Thanks for sharing,
Yildiz
