Challenge #65: "Glimpses of Spring"-Submissions allowed + judging

Unread post by aster »

.

Welcome to our new challenge "Glimpses of Spring". :D

As the topic suggests, it's all about catching the glimpses of Spring while we're still experiencing the rather grayish and reluctant passsing of February weather changes. It's now that Nature braves itself to show some signs of what will be on full display when Spring embraces us with its warmth and flourishing abundance of colours. :)

Therefore, please share with us how you caught a glimpse of Spring that suprised you in the still cool days or if you're some of the fortunate ones that are in warmer climes, then your favourite latest Spring shots that you were lucky to capture.

-Can be in an urban setting; in your garden; in your vicinity which provides for natural growth of nature. Your interpretations are welcome.

Looking forward to seeing your 'Glimpses of Spring', should you wish to contribute. : )

Good luck !

Yildiz

Another great inspiration for pictures - thanks Yildiz :)

I think the best is still to come for Snowdrops in my vicinity, but I thought I'd share this bunch taken while out in the woods last weekend. Processed in Capture One 10 which I am trialling.

A99 with Tamron 90/2.8 macro. (The A99 flippy-flappy screen winning out over lying on the frozen/wet ground!)
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.

Nice flowers Andy. Those daffodils fit the challenge like a glove DA. Nature's clock work is absolutely fascinating.

Birma and David Antony;

Two 'gloves', I would say, from two differenet climate zones around the world. :)

Both are gorgeous. The Snowdrops are glorious while the Daffodils are very brave and right on time for March.

Thanks for sharing,

One thing I really want to photograph is Snowdrops in the snow. One year, let's hope :)

Snowdrops in snow... that would be the topmost highlight to your 'Snowdrop-photography' collection, Andy, and we certainly would be looking forwad to seeing tose shots. :D The Snowdrops in your neck of woods / vicinity are always so abundant and delightful-looking; and they have a photographer like you to eternelize them!

We are having a topsy turvy weather in Silicon Valley. Yesterday there was snow on the ground at 2500 feet. And yet, we are already having spring like weather.

Looking gorgeous, Sury. :D

A700 did great but those blossoms are even greater and you captured beautifully. Not glimpses but fully-attired, bountiful Spring captures which is just as it should be for California.

In our forest snowdrop population is mixed with spring snowflakes. I took some photos yesterday with fisheye (16mm + FE adapter):

Marcell,
The first set is excellent. Especially the third one is my favorite.
