Guys there are all sorts of things that can be achieved these days of digital manipulations.
The use of the hue/saturation and masks or layers in colour blend mode and masks will get you there
Textured overlays can be used to affect as well.
Don't forget the use of filters as well.
What Don has done here is usually frowned upon on other forums that I frequent.
If it aint out of the camera then it aint real.

Kevin, your version has a lot of appeal to it, but it's obvious that the foreground and background have the light coming in form opposite directions. Perhaps it would work if from a world with 2 suns!
