Filter Systems

Unread post by harvey »

I'm thinking of using ND grad filters so that means purchasing a holder and filters. Does anyone have advice on the best systems (I'm most likely to be using the Minolta 17-35mm f/2.8) or 50mm f/1.7 on A900.)

Quick web search comes up with Lee (expensive) and Cokin-Z (various people say the Cokin ND grads have colour casts)

Also, can you use a (round) circular polarizer and a filter holder at the same time?

Sure you can, and in that case I think you should stick to Cokin filter holder and polarizer as well as a ND graduated from some other brand, e.g. B+W.

Hi Harvey - the last thread to discuss this was here I think http://www.photoclubalpha.com/forum/vie ... =27&t=3053. I use Cokin ND grads and I haven't seen colour casts yet. I also have a Kood CPL of the slot in type which I'm happy with.
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.
