Minolta 5600HS Questions

Unread post by shotokan101 »

Hi are there any drawbacks or issues with using a Minolta 5600HS flash with the modern Alpha DSLT models such as the A77?

Also are all 5600HS models actually HS(D) ?

And finally what's a reasonable price to pay for one ?

Thanks

Nope, it supposed to work perfectly on the A77

Regarding the state of the flash, less than 200$

There are no serious drawbacks
Some minor ones..manual power limited to 1/1 – 1/32, newer flashes go quite a lot lower manual power output (probably not a big deal for most)
It doesn't have a built in white card, and it can't do a dumb optical slave (which is useful for mixing flashes like the Yongnuo ones)

I don't see that many around, I see the odd Sony going for £150 odd, personally I would not pay that you can buy a much more up to date flash from other makers brand new for less or just a bit more. It's worth getting one, but only at the right price
