NEX/Alpha Apps Question

Greetings All,
Anyone know if a wired shutter release cable will work with the Sony apps like Star Trail, Bracket Pro, Light Shaft, etc? I own an A7s and an A6000. A third party wireless remote works fine with both OUTSIDE of any apps. It seems to get locked out of them. Can I assume a wired one will work instead? Specifically, I'd like to use it for HDR with Bracket Pro. I know I can use the Sony PlayMemories Mobile as a remote. But I generally like to keep the cameras in Airplane Mode to save battery life. Thanks in advance!
