LA-EA1 will not autofocus Sigma 150-500 APO HSM

This is a bummer, lens will not lock, just hunts. Anyone hear anything? I downloaded and installed both the NEX-3 ver.3 and the adaptor ve.2 firmware updates.

Given the problems Sigma has with the new SLT cameras, are you able to check the lens with a A33 or A55 ?

NO but it works fine with my a700.

Contrast detection AF has real problems with focal lengths in that range. I can't get my 70-200mm f/2.8 HSM Sigma to lock focus more than one try in twenty maybe. It can do it, it just lacks the gradual refinement of the E-system motor to home in on the right point. The slow SAM motor works rather better.
