You should specify for what, e.g. Nikkor lens to NEX, or K-mount to NEX, or Leica lens to NEX, etc.
There are lots of good adapters. Do a search on e-bay.

Probably the Novoflex, if you can afford it.
for the same price, you can get the LensBaby, and add the tilt option.
for non "G" lenses, any adapter you find on eBay will work -if the maker respected the flange extension (the first adapter I got for Minolta MD/MC lenses is not good, impossible to get sharper pics, specially with wide angle lenses)

I bought a cheap (£20) Nex to MD adapter which seems to work ok, but there is a small degree of rotational 'play' when fitted which does not inspire confidence. (How do I test infinity focus?) I wonder if the Kipon one (around £40) would be a better bet. The Novoflex seems too pricey (£100+).

The weakest point in a system will always define the limit of a system. It makes no sense to me to use a cheap adapter with a good lens and good sensor. I have a cheap alpha-Nex adapter which I have used to attach a Minolta AF macro lens to my NEX for the purpose of archiving old slides where I am more interested in the record than for future printing. Also, the use of a focusing rail stabilises the connection, which is important because the fit of the adapter is poor and I imagine this will inevitably bring in some distortion. I would not use such an adapter in the field. For MD-Nex I use a Novoflex, and the fit is snug. For Leica M-NEX a Metabones. These are not cheap (about £100 and £50 respectively) but are quality items and I see no point in spoiling the ship for a ha'porth of tar. I would certainly recommend going the Novoflex route for a Nikon lens.

I have a cheapie adapter, a Metabones, a Voigtlander and a Hawks Helicoid M adapter, and while the Voigtlander are the great regular adapters, the Hawks Helicoid is fantastic. It cuts your M lens mfd by around half, and it nails infinity focus with my ZM lens. I haven't used the others since.

Hawks Helicoid sounds an excellent idea - was not aware of it.
