DXO Optics Pro has added 100 correction modules to DXO 5. 13 are for Sony, but since a lens is listed multiple times for different bodies, there are really only 8 lenses included, with one being the Sony version of the Minolta lens.
CZ 85/1.4, CZ 135/1.8 and CZ 24-70/2.8 on A100 & 350
CA 16-35 F2.8 on A700 & 900
Sony 70-300 F4.5-5.6 G and Sony 70-400 F4-5.6 G on A700 & 900
Sony macro 100 f2.8 and Minolta AF 100 F2.8 Macro (D) on A700

What do these lens profiles do ? are they to correct lens type distorsions?

Yes, they correct lens distortion.Javelin wrote:What do these lens profiles do ? are they to correct lens type distorsions?
In addition, a profiled lens has a special sharpening tool that takes the lens characteristics into account.
DxO has a really good noise reduction engine too.
I'm finding that I can for the first time go straight from DxO to JPG without having to work in Photoshop, or at least use PS noise and sharpening plugins.
And, like so many others, I can see just how badly LR/ACR handle Sony RAW files. It's a revelation.

At last!
That is very good news indeed, they have been SO slow in the past.

It still is ultraslow , the results are superb for the lens/camera combos they do have. They have most of the current production lenses but not any of the old Minolta 28-105mm or Tamron 17-35mm for example.
Best lens aberration correction tool I have tried, especially the Volume Anamorphosis tool, where you can turn spheres spherical at the edge of the frame where they had become stretched by the lens. This is great for wide-angle group shots to avoid people becoming twice as wide at the edge of the frame.
