read it in a magazine, maybe you know but some might not, its not as good as a raw but its better than nothing

open the full edit,
go to file and click open as
scroll through open as until you come to camera raw
click camera raw

then click your image, it will be opened up in the raw converter,
then you have all the sliders etc , just treat it as a raw image

In CS3-C34 you can set ACR to open all files - TIFFs, JPEGs, whatever. It does not really help, as it is still just a JPEG, but the familiarity with the sliders can be useful.
