I'm disappointed that there's no option to invert the adjustment brush mask.

The Auto Mask option in the adjustment brush works well when there's a clear contrast border. For example, if you have a shot where you want to blur or otherwise adjust a background, it's far quicker and more accurate to brush the subject rather than the background. I would then want to invert the mask. As it stands now, I sometimes adjust the whole shot to the way the I want the background, and I then use the adjustment brush to bring back the main subject. This doesn't always work well because the adjustment brush doesn't have all the controls available.

It's all the more frustrating because the new variable filter adjustment brush DOES have an invert option.

I'm sure that will be addressed in future updates.

DP Review have a good article on the improvements here

I will probably purchase the upgrade from LR4 when the final version is released.
I am attracted to the "Upright tool" as I mostly use NEX now and all my E lenses have a Lightroom lens correction profile. Could be worth the money. With my 10-18mm I can mostly get enough room for strong corrections and with 16Mp a sufficiency of pixels are available for that.
