Lens info in Lightroom

Hi guys, i'm always using LR2 for my workflow and it works ok. However, a relative brought over his Canon 5D with a 24-105 lens and LR2 showed the lens information.
It never does with my A700 and SAL2470 (or other lenses like Tamron 11-18, Sigma 105 etc.)

Anyway to show the info ???
