Found a Canadian photographer who... is aparently quite popular in the art circles around here.

http://www.theenchantedforest.ca/second-page.htm

Aparently his technique (recently)
"This year my photographic work is organic in nature. I develop a fungus growth on the emulsion side of the slide. In 3-4 months the fungus destroys the colours in the original slide to create a spontaneous combustion of chaos."

though you might be interested.

/me goes to adobe.com to request the addition of a fungus button in the effects menu

Well, I give him one thing, it is pretty unique!
But have to say, a tad crazy too. Here we are trying to preserve our shots, and he tries his best to stuff them up with fungal infections!
Not to be too critical of the guy, but do the shots work without the messed up aspect? I think it is possible, he is using it as a gimmick, and that they wouldn't have much impact without it. Maybe I am too harsh though.

I wasn't really aware of him but he definatly making a good living at what he's doing. A lot of his photographs are double exposures with a powerfull subject behind a benign foreground like flowers or something else that has the same mode or seems to amp up the subject. then these weird colour treatments. They definatly give you a strange a feeling whyen you examine them. some can be alarming actually.
