Thanks, Winston. Children are always good subjects because they are usually not self-conscious and often actually want you to take their photo. :)

I just realized that my photo called "Sunday morning after a hard Saturday night in Shinjuku, Tokyo" was actually taken on B&W film and not on color and then converted to B&W. Sorry.

I know I'm getting into this thread way late, but I just started using Bibble Pro (free trial) and it had a plug-in that lets you convert using different types of B&W film characteristics, and differing papers to 'print' it on. You can even 'develop' the film and paper at different times using different chemicals. Interesting. Switch from Tri-X to AgfaPan to FP5, to Kodalith, etc.

I never did a lot in B&W. I did some when I knew I couldn't get to a lab, and knew I had to develop and print quickly. Not artsy, photojournalism. Most of the time I just shot color print and printed B&W using Ilford Multigrade. Now, however, since I can play in seconds with what would have taken hours in the lab, I may do bit more of it.

A good conversion and such a nice sculpture to tread on which also fits the subject of "Rain crafts, terrain drafts" challenge... :)

Thanks, Yildiz. I don't think rain had much to do with it. It's the run-off and freezing that has the most effect.

Hi Winston,

I see but run off water is caused by excessive rain...it's all in the interpretation though. :)

As you wish,

Nice conversion. The rock on the left side of the shot is persistently attracting my glimpse... can't explain why.
Good shot.

Thanks for clarifying. I misunderstood.

Thanks, Doc. I had the same feeling when I made the exposure.

I just used Photoscape's grayscale for this one. However I did start with a PP'd in IDC JPEG. I did some manual DRO adjustment as the body is in very heavy shadow and the water reflected the light enough to burn it out.

I'm glad to see this thread is still alive. Here are a couple more of my B&W photos.

:D Nice smiles from the kids, Bakubo and that's an interesting face at the fast-food stand. I like the brightness in the first photo's conversion...and the subtle reflections on the street after the rain.

Dusty;

The zebra is unmistakably very graphical... :)
