Beautiful as always Gustav. :D

You seem to have enjoyed the lens. Do you think this lens will effect your shooting habits and make itself a perminant tool?

Yes, yes, yes... He's back, I mean Gustav is back :D
Wonderful shots as always (seconding Yildiz).
I notice this lens has a better touch than the 70-200 or is it me?

hello dr harout

i only shot this kingfisherserie with the sony 300mm

but i think the 300 mm is better quality , but the 70 - 200 is a littlebit faster , but it is not much

dr harout what do you mean with 100 % crop ???????
my english is not so good , but i think you want to see a little detail of one of the picture`s???????
can you tell me , what picture ????

i shall send the next serie kingfishers , with the 300 mm here

Exactly, Gustav. Just post a detail of a shot, never mind which shot because all your shots are excellent.

And congratulations for your picture earning "Best shot" at Dyxum.com :D
And for those who might want to see it then here's the link:

Hey Kingfisher, :)

I like the fine details in last close-up photo. Seems the bird stood there still for long enough for you to achieve some fine details. The other close-up I like is No: 6, with the small water drops around its neck. The water drops are tiny yet the lens captured them with definition (the bird is moving in this shot, so some feather details are blurred on top of its head).
The rest of the normal size shots are as nice as ever, and I also like the defined details of the green moss growth on the branch.

This is a fine lens indeed! :D

Congratulations
Yildiz

These are exceptional pictures again, wonderful colour and tones, and the sharpness is always perfectly in the right plane. I used to help Shirley design a wildlife magazine, and we got so many bird photos where the bird was not sharp enough and the background too sharp, where Photoshop was needed to sharp/blur selectively to make the photo work well enough for a cover or a large part of a page. Your photos would have been well above the standard of the best we ever saw back then (in the days of film, of course).

I really like'em!! Just one question, don't take it as a criticism: Why did you shoot F5.6 and not F4 or F2.8? Was it for a better depth of field? But wouldn't a shorter shutter speed would have been helpful?
Thanks,
Thomas

thanks david and yildiz

the detailphoto`s , is piece off the normal picture

dr harout ask me , for some 100% crop-picture , i thought he means a small part off the picture
butt i ask my friend what he`s meaning
now i now...... al the photo`s , except the detail-picture`s are 100 % cropt photo`s

so i make them for the forum only smaller

when i take this picture`s , i make my sharppoint in the camera out off the middle , so the compositie is in one time good

david
thank you for you`s compliment`s
i send some off the picture to paul genge , hope he like them

That's OK, Gustav.
100% crop = a small part of the picture (up to 1024 pix on one side) without resizing.
Anyway, in the detailed shot I see a perfect sharpness and that's what I was expecting from that lens. Beautiful!
Thanks a lot, Gustav, you are wonderful. :D
