What a sunrise

Sometimes you just want to stand and applaud, there was a lot of cloud cover, but in the patches it did break through, the colours were great.

These are almost straight raw conversions, no boost to saturation, mainly use of 'fill' in ACR to bring out the shadows as I was exposing for the sky.

I always like your seascape/sunrises Murph, and I think you've done a nice job there again and with the PP as well, just the right amount of predawn mystery and expectation, I can almost smell the salt air....something I've experienced many times out fishing.
Speaking of fishing do you on your jaunts along the shore in the early hours ever see or hear any bait-fish along the edges, mullet, herring, pilchards or such moving around or scattering when something is chasing them? I'm just curious, as you obviously spend a bit time down by the sea.

Very nice! As for the cropping suggested by the good Doctor, it depends a great deal on the intended purpose for the photograph. On one hand, a bit tighter cropping would make the brighter colors occupy more of the shot and give it more immediate impact. OTOH, the color in the sky is subtly reflected from the rocks right down to the bottom edge. IMO, that kind of extra detail makes the shot much more interesting in the longer term, more worthy of extended study and contemplation. Cropping would increase the "Wow!" at the expense of some "Hmmmm" -- but IMO, it has already has plenty of "wow" factor.

Thanks a lot for the comments, I do try to post images that fit with the best shot title on this thread (I'll keep the ropey ones for elsewhere).

Regarding cropping, I included the foreground rocks on purpose to act as a frame, although I think a bit less of them might work well - I'll have a look at that.
