Polarizing filter for SAL 16-105

Which slim polarizing filter can be safely used with SAL 16-105 to prevent vignetting? Has anyone personal experience?

I haven't got any personal experience with that lens, but any of the slim filters should do. The lens with the greater problem is the 16-80, which can do well enough with slim filters, but it is recommended that you use step-up rings to larger sizes like 72mm or 77mm. If you ever feel like you'll own a lens as big as that, I'd get one of the larger filters and use step-up rings for all my smaller filter threads. You can find step-up rings easily enough by typing in the two filter sizes "62mm 77mm" in amazon and it knows exactly what you're talking about. Using the step-up rings will also give you room for stacking filters without having to worry about vignetting.

Back to filters just for that lens, specifically polarizing filters. I tested a lot of filters on my Tamron 17-50 to find one that was uncompromised. I wanted slim, I wanted multi-coating, and I didn't want to lose any lens-cap ability. I don't know whether the 3rd party brands (B+W, Hoya, Tiffen) allow you to keep a lens cap, but I know the Nikon C-PLII does, and it blocks a lot less light than the B+W filter as well. It does exist in 62mm, though it is harder to find. 67mm is what I have, and what is more common to Nikon's lens line-up.

As Kevin said, any slim polarizer can do it. The problem is, you cannot rotate it if the hood is on. Why Sony is not making the hoods with small windows underneath to rotate filters?

Thank you both for advices. I consider going for a step-up ring 62/77 mm when I decide which next lens I'll buy.
Making a small hole in the hood is an interesting idea...

I bought the Sony filter and it is great. Vignetting seems no worse than the lens only and it does hold a lens cap.
The filter holder is nicely made too.
