I thought I'd put this link in as he seems to use both a KM5D and an A700 for his bird photography.

It must be the same family.. This one really makes a noise at night, can drive you dilly..we call it a Spotted Dikkop (Burhinus capensis). I use a KM5D and an A700 for my bird photography so were you referring to him or me? looking at his site he has much the same interests as me.. very interesting.. thank you for sharing this..

the MALACHITE KINGFISHER , is one of the birds , i like very wel , and is on my list , to photograph them
can you tell me the best place to shoot them????????????

The Malachite Kingfisher is found all over Africa below the Sahara.. We have them in South Africa and they are not so common, but if you know where to look we can find them without much difficulty. You are welcome to visit South Africa and when you do, I will happily show you where I shoot them. They are found all over the country next to rivers and lakes and I have seen them in a few different places including the Kruger National Park. Here we also have about 10 different kingfishers. I include some more photos just to wet your appetite so that you can visit here.

Those are some gorgeous shots Robbie -- an essentially perfect job of capturing a beautiful subject!
