Tis a Long-tailed Widow bird.. half way through getting its breeding plumage,, the brown will be replaced by black feathers for the breeding season..

Sorry, I did say that I had a couple of bird pics and Yildez said I should post.. hehe.. ok, will slow down now..

I still say that you should post Robbie.. :D :D

Not taking my words back! And it's not a competition between members thankfully...

Please feel free to post. These birds are rarely to be found together in a thread like this so let's make the most of it. I, personally truely enjoyed the variety and find each one inspirational aesthetic-wise.

Thanks for the info Robbie.

I'd say you are a real birder Rob, I only take a few now and then.
I find one has to be a little dedicated to birding as it takes a lot of time to try and get THAT shot.

Post em up if you have em, it might make me get off my a%^ to see whats outside.

I know you are trying to be shy RobbieA but it's too late for that now. This is the longest that one of my posts has ever gone so keep it up.
Check out some of these older shots.

This guy just got his first red tail feather. I was literally 10 feet from him. He just laid in the grass right in front of me pretending to protect his food.

Breaking forum rules with the 4th shot but it's my favorite.

Yes Stephen, it takes a lot of time, patience and dedication to do avian photography... and I supposedly do it to relax.. haha..

The latest pics are great jbtaylor.. love that silhouette image.. and yes, your favourite, the last one is awesome... I would just crop the RHS slightly to move the bird out of the smack bang center of the image..
