A900 mirror lockup

Unread post by harvey »

I was trying to use mirror lockup for the first time on the A900 but could not work out how to use this in combination with the Wireless Remote Commander. The manual has this comment in the section for mirror lockup:
If you use the Remote Commander (not supplied) you can reduce the camera shake furthermore
This makes me wonder if both should work at the same time (and note the Remote Commander was supplied). It looks like the mirror lockup mode does not enable the IR commander (which is a separate choice on the drive menu).

I was only able to get remote control for mirror lockup with my Minolta RC-1000L.

No -- this is probably the single largest (remaining) problem with the A700, and it remains in the A900, unmodified. You can use mirror pre-fire OR the wireless remote, but not both at once.

Oh good! Now I don't feel nearly so deprived at not being able to afford an A900 :-)
