I don't have many flowers yet - plenty of laburnum, big wisteria on the house front, and loads of self-seeded yellow poppies:
New Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 HSM II lens for Sony, A900, with 2X Teleplus DG-7 used at full aperture for soft effect, manual focus, ISO 320 (because this is a very good setting on the A900, so is 160 when the light is better). Minimum focus.
We mainly have herbs and stuff growing in the old flowerbeds, alongside roses (not yet) and a range of very seasonal hidden things like autumn crocus. Here's some golden oregano, this and the green oregano (thyme) have almost taken over the whole garden - they grow everywhere and when you walk on the gravel, it smells of herbs, and when I cut the grass it smells of them too. I like that, so I let them grow:
This one is at 105mm and f/10 lens on its own.
These are garden spearmint and apple mint:
I generally like having plants which look good and are also edible. We lost a whole 'hedge' of Jerusalem artichoke and another hedge of fennel - both many years old, returning every year - as well as big rhubarb patch, horseradish plants and many other useful things when our vegetable garden was sold for building. I tried to move some of the plants but it didn't always work.
