Photographing NYC and even the MTA (Subway) is "still" legal.

NYC put out something a while ago on this. I think it's about time NYPD did this too. there was a lot of misinformation that photography was restricted on buildings and subways in particular. I think it was really unfounded except citizens believed this too so some people got hassled by guards or people on the street.

I hope the powers that be in Whitehall and New Scotland Yard take note. They should also remember Obama's inauguration speech, and in particular his comments on personal liberties, not to mention FDR's famous statement that "there is nothing to fear but fear itself". Fortunately the Conservative party is likely to address all this in a sensible manner when they are elected to Government.
