Fruit flavoured vodka or gin is popular in the UK, but in this case I think the fruit is added to the alchohol after bottling and soaks in it, rather than being used to be make it in the first place, which is what it sounds like you are doing in Armenia.

Is it true that you have to propose a toast before being allowed to drink the vodka?

I am very fond of vodka from the freezer so it is very cold and like syrup - yummy.

Yes Birma you are right that one should propose a good toast and after that only everybody is allowed to drink.
And here there is soething like competrition who will propose nicer toast you know, and in every armenian national party we choose one guy who has good experience of life and knows many nice toast as a leader of the party table, and every time he should propose toasts.. This guys is called "tamada" in Armenia and they are deeply respected.
