Wireless File Transfer for Sony?

Any leads on a wireless file transfer solution for Sony Alpha DSLR's? I'm not talking transferjet either. I'm talking eye-fi, a special card that sends the files, a special micro usb adaptor that plugs into the alpha etc... is there any solution to wirelessly send off those images?

Not yet. Alpha works with Wi-Pix, which uses a modified CF card, but you are forced to have a Wi-Pix pack clipped to your belt. Admittedly, a 250GB hard drive storage your pix and transmitting them to a base workstation as real time backups is not a bad solution - but it is strictly for professionals, at a price.

damn 250 gig pack huh. i'm gonna check that out. I'm scared to say this before doing my research but... hey as long as its under $500 i think i'd buy it.

here. I think the system is over $2k though. there is a post on DPR that says eye-fi with the CF adaptor works on Sony. mIght be something you can try before you buy.

I quit! I'm going with the Digital Foci Photo Safe II, 250 GB Portable Picture for $158.0 USD!!! The way I'm thinking about it... keep my (4) 4 gigabyte memory cards and my 1 8 gigabyte cards I have now... shoot till half full, dump to the portable device which i'll have 2 addtl batteries (both batteries will cost me only $22.00 usd!!) It may not be wireless, but hey, I'll have my images all rounded up fast and can continue to shoot on location!!

very good. I think the other system is intended for instant examination by photo editors and stuff from remote locations. TransferJet is a neat thing and might be something we might find on cameras soon because it looks like all the camera guys are in on it now. but thats not going to be what you want. you would have to bonk your PE on the head with your camera to get the transfer started. it would be great for HD tv's and uploading to computers though.. or portable hard drives..
