We have one which visits occasionally but he's very shy and I haven't had any luck yet.
Reds are dying out here because of the greys.
I got a red recently but not nearly as good as yours (18-250 as I'd left the 70-400 at home!!!).
We were visiting some family on holiday here and this little lady was on the tree in the garden.



Just shows what excellent quality optics they produced 20 odd years ago.

Don, could you please tell us about the postprocessing? I tried hard but never got that "popping out" sharpness with my beercan/a700

The squirrels are just superb, mine never have that punch.

Thanks for taking the time Don, can you do nearly as good with the camera JPEG? or is that a waste of time...I usually just use the camera JPEG and hit the auto enhance in E6 and maybe fuss a little more with it, thinking it's only going on the web anyway at a reduced size/quality ...but you have shown that it is possible too display good quality on the web..so I might have to re-adjust my thinking a bit, thing is you don't get all those extra adjustments in Elements either, there are 'some' in the RAW file editor part of the program, but not as comprehensive as the real deal, the full version is a tad expensive...over here it is anyway, the dang thing is hundreds of money....
