We're all fine, thank you. You're very considerate.
I live at a higher spot in Istanbul where the rain water cannot accumulate to form a difficult situation but the lower parts of Istanbul and other cities were affected and some have lost their lives. Officials are working on getting people out of the regions where more flooding is most likely to happen as we expect more rain towards the weekend.

I'm sorry that has happend to your city, but I am glad you and yours are safe... From your nighttime Istambul shots I figured you were'nt prone to flooding... But as anyone around LA can tell you, those hillsides can be dangerous too!

Hi John,

I see what you mean, but maybe being so close to the Boshorus the water finds a way to be out of the way more quickly and doesn't cause any problems for now.

Here are two shots from the rainy and stormy night. In the first one you can see that the bridge lights were broken for a while due to rain and winds at 5:15 am. The second was shot later as clouds darkened the sky at 6:13 am but some of the lights of the bridge were fixed.
