Another glacier

I just saw Gio67's photos (beautiful shots btw) and just wanted to show another glacier, this one is the Torre's glacier from the vicinity of El Chalten, Santa Cruz, Argentina. I had to walk over heavy snow for about 4hs in order to get this view, the weather wasn't the best photographically speaking but it was worth it anyway
I also remeber eating one of the best sandwiches of my entire life there

Cracking shot Roy - and it sounds like you really had to put in some hard work to get the shot. The blue of the ice looks really odd.

I keep looking for the sandwich shop but the area seems a bit underpopulated Still, at those temperatures the sell-by dates of a Ginsters BLT would be considerably extended (visit any British filling station if you want to suffer the effects of risking one of these - made in Cornwall, sold in Aberdeen, always fresh as three days after they were wrapped!).

In fear of wandering off topic, Ginster make their pasties and sandwiches just down the road from us at Callington, and while they provide much needed work in the locality, very few of the locals eat the things! On the plus side they do sponser one of the best local firework displays for November 5th. (Possibly as a reminder as to what effect their pasties have.....)

Back on topic, Roy, great shot, you've captured those blues in the ice and the atmospheric feeling really well, and unless you've seen a galcier in the flesh everyone thinks you've doctored the colours, after all, snow is white, right?

Great shot - I like how the background disappears in the fog... The colours seem a bit different to me, did you do any PP? (well, normally when I notice odd colours I'll discover later it was shot on film )

Yes, the blue ice is the very first thing I noticed too, looks like frozen gatorade

Bossel: You have very good eye, all my shots are PP in DxO because I always shoot in RAW, but this one is using the Fuji Velvia 50 rendering profile, that why it looks like film

That is a wonderful surreal shot roysmith. It looks like a picture that the blue is added in PP. I know that is how they really are, but it still very surreal looking. Hopefull I can make it there before they all disappear.

Nice shot. Nature can be overwhelming.
That sandwich better be good if you had to walk 4 miles to get it.
