Hi guys
I'm new to the forum, and I look forward to getting to know you all.
I don't get out with my camera half as much as I'd like to, but I thought I'd start by sharing the most recent images taken on my a700.
They were taken in Edinburgh, at the beginning of January.

Great stuff, the cannon is my personal favourite but I'd have been happy enough with any of them had I shot them.

Mande- Nice set #1 is definately my favorite. Very surreal. #2 and the cannon are close behind. P.S. Welcome!

Lot's of impact in those, very well done, although I can't say I'm overly fond of that chimney thingy in the bottom of #3 the castle itself is superbly exposed..it might even make a good subject on it's own perhaps...and yeah I love the cannon..seige gun...great one.

And yeah, the Castle does make an interesting subject on it's own, but EVERYONE who visits Edinburgh takes pictures of the Castle. I just thought I'd show a slightly different view of Edinburgh, but here is one from the couple of dozen I took of the Castle that evening

Nice shots! I remember trying to tour Edinburgh in a matter of hours between a plane ride and a bus trip. I remember trying, but I don't remember anything about it. The jet-lag and the extremely northern latitude were wearing me out something fierce. Your pictures are lovely--I really like the brilliant colors and the dramatic use of the UWA lens.

Fantastic stuff - #1 is great with the drama of the uwa shot.

In the 1st shot, the lights from the big wheel really gave me an interesting effect in the long exposure. The monument doesn't always look like that, lol
And I love using my 11-18mm wide angle lens on these kinds of shots.
