Hi Lonnie,

The second and third set are wonderful too. I also like the vegetation in the desert part as well as the oasis. There are some nice surprises hidden between those high-rising rock formations.
I think the overcast sky worked nicely with the colours of the terrain by increasing the saturation and the dramatic effect of the scene.

Thanks Tom - last time we were in Sedona, we drove the Jerome route, agreed - came back with a silver tea service being sent to us (it was our silver wedding) from an antique shop in Jerome. The south rim has certain things we want to see, notably the skywalk. Shirley plans to take a helicopter trip while I remain on the ground, it's a bit expensive for both to go and in any case pictures FROM the helicopter have no value to me while pictures OF the trip are marketable.

Same as ever! Many years ago in the Camargue, Shirley rode the horses while I drove from stop to stop catching up with the riders to shoot them.

I assumed that you had probably been through that area before, but decided it was worth mentioning on the chance that you had not. Since you have already been to Sedona, I assume that you have been to the "Chapel of the Holy Cross", which is one of the places that I thought might provide you with some marketable images.

There have been thousands of images of it taken that are similar to the photos at: http://www.dreamsedona.com/chapel-holy-cross.html However, I do not remember seeing anyone do a decent photo story of some of the details of the Chapel area, and it had occurred to me - speaking from the "expert" viewpoint of an engineer - that if you did not already have a good set of images from there, you might get some marketable shots at the Chapel on this trip.

FWIW, the type of images to which I was referring when I mentioned "details of the Chapel area" are typified by the following images that I took there on a rather overcast day three years ago. The first one is of the walkway leading from the parking area to the Chapel itself. The second image is of the Chapel from the direction of the entrance - and an image to which I have to resist adding a Photoshopped blue sky. The third image is of one of the entrance doors of the Chapel.

Hi Tom,

These are very nice shots of the Holly Cross. Admirable architectural structure and blends well with the red rock formations that soar throughout the terrain. A spiritually lifting monument and internal space for all creeds and religions, the way it is smartly positioned on the twin rocks.
