Our YUDU web-based Flash Reader digital editions of the magazines have been popular, but readers have asked for iPad versions and also for PDFs in straight form which can be downloaded and saved, printed or viewed.
We now a have a new digital delivery option of PDF files which are of very good quality, matched to today's finer pixel pitch screens. Initially the latest four issues (one year) have been bundled into one download for $3, and the previous four (2008-9) starting with the Alpha 900 launch into a second archive. A subscription plan offering notification to download each new issue when they appear is also planned.
See the front page of the website: http://www.photoclubalpha.com
which has the subscription details as the main post right now. This may change in which case simply go to the Digital Editions subscription tab.

Re: iPad tested PDFs of Photoworld
I think I will prefer this PDF better than the YUDU services...

Re: iPad tested PDFs of Photoworld
The only problem for me is that I can not get YUDU to offer my PDFs as an alternative. They want thousands of pounds to create iPad app store stuff before they will do the PDF-ePub type delivery.
The Payloadz system I am using for the PDFs is entirely separate so I can't transfer people over from one to the other, but so far it is proving popular.

I don't have an iPad and I don't plan to have any apple product any soon -I never care about the Mac-PC battle, but I don't like at all how apple products are more and more closed and how their Supreme Director try to impose his point of view without leave the users to decide what is more convenient for them (us?). I won't defend Adobe on his battle against Apple, but I think the users have to decide what is better.
I have an Android-based phone that I don't really like that much (I'll be upgrading soon to another device, and I'm trying to hold until the new WindowsPhone show up in the market, the Palm/HP project is interesting too) but, if an App that I install run too slow or doesn't do what it's supposed to do, I just uninstall it. Most people will do the same and that App will just disappear.
I was thinking about getting a tablet for travel and as a way to carrying my portfolio with me, but Android-based tablets aren't that nice yet, the Archos9 (windows 7) looks nice but it is a little bit expensive... I'm not in a rush, so I can stand on my fence waiting for the right product at the right price.
Back to the magazine, I rather prefer have a pdf on my archives that I can consult anytime than going to YUDU and try to find and load a magazine.
Regards
