Whatever the reasons it's unlikely to help with big sales ala Christmas period. Maybe the new EVF models will be huge sellers who can say..As ever I'm a tad cautious as I know other makers are working on some decent stuff. As the delayed models are the OVF ones it only highlights the suspicion that Sony are not that interested in OVF users in this price range.

I have a few - unfortuneately (or maybe not) it seems I have to many hobbies with photography having to take second seat to biking, teleskiing and snowboarding.

My new Gary Fischer HiFi 29er that I just go off of a few minutes ago. Actually riding on this mountain but these shots are from early this summer when the bike was new and I was on a different trail. I really need a NEX to carry along as the A700 just big and heavy hauling up the hills.

Live dangerously Tom! Welcome. Sony lives dangerously, with all the wolves around here it's a wonder their little lambs survive the first hour.

If a camera is successfully sold into Argos's catalogue in Britain, it can mean unavailability for all other retailers for several weeks or months due to the volume they take. 560 not available does not mean they are not making it. It could mean a Chinese department store has just bought the entire first year's production...

I think it is quite likely that some combination of trouble in getting the new factory up to speed and overwhelming orders, are the problem with the delay of the A560 in the states. Between the NEX/A55/33/A560/580 etc. the volume of DSLR (like) sales is rapidly increasing for Sony so not surprising some bottlenecks might happen.

Of course it could also be as simple as the supplier of one of the parts having difficulty.

Regardless, Sony is coming up with innovative and quite advanced features and putting them in very reasonably priced cameras. I am quite enthused in my hope for the A7XX. This is going to be quite a camera IMO.

I think I read that the A580 was going to be delayed until next year and now the A560 is to be delayed too. Might as well just release the A590 and A570 if it is going to be that far in the future. :)

One thing for sure is that Sony is doing what they can as fast as they can to have as many cameras as possible available for the holiday season. Which ones they will be and why is hard to say.

Pretty difficult I would think to try to predict demand for which model and organize the right marketing, production, sales and shipping program. A lot of guess work involved i would think.
