Great one, Greg! :))

Different sort to ours...but a bit reminiscent of the Pica Picas that I see in Istanbul.

OK, don't worry Greg, all you have to do is to put a dead fish under the car seat of your neighbor at night with an attachment saying: with the compliments of www.canon.com

Hi Greg - of course Wikipedia has the answer ( 8) ) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Magpie . Seems to involve either spitting or pinching so a bit anti-social :( .

On the other hand, this is all for the European Magpie - the Antipodean variety is probably entirely different. Probably the harbinger of "a couple of cold ones and a barbie" instead of misfortune :D.

Hi Greg, :D

I know no remedies that's become of tradition but I have a personal suggestion: Make yourself a beaker of home-made lemonade and while in the making say these words out loud like a chant and wear a huge smile to scare all bad omens away! : ))

"I squeeze the juices of this healthy, juicy lemon into the eyes of all evil and bad so they don't see no more!
I add the sweetness of this huge tablespoonful of sugar for my soul and well-being so my life is as sweet-running as always!
I pour this sweet cool water from the sacred streams of my land to wash away all that' evil and irritating!
And I mix them all nicely to blend this mixture into that enchanting magical cool drink that will work wonders!"

: )))) There you go!

Your Vitamin C and energy provider turned into a magical bad curse removal remedy.... : )

Now go and have a wonderful day and don't be scared to look any crow or magpie in the eye and have a mental battle with it! :D

Hi Glad to be of help! :D

What's with raw fish and all the practical jokes? April Fool's Day also has a similar type of 'fishing' in it. If I remember correctly, they slide a cold raw fish down inside people's shirts or something of the like on that day...

Well, about the neighbour, offer him a huge glass of iced homemade lemonade and his ill intentions and thoughts will disappear too! :D Greg,

Yildiz

Southern Turkey-Mediterranean Coast: It's around 30 C here with a cool breeze coming through the window openiings right this moment...

Tonight I leave for Istanbul which I missed very much. :) It'll be windy there and a little cooler no doubt.

There's a place down from our own which makes fresh flat breads and I had fresh warm ones every single morning for breakfast. I love to wrap olives, cheese, tomatoes, eggs and bacon, fresh green mint leaves and everything imaginable with these breads... :D
Something you can't have in Istanbul that early. I mean the warm flat bread of course. : )

Here's the woman making one of my breads while I wait close by her very hot stove.

tsawwassen 15ºc partly cloudy.

Excellent market shots Aster. Simply can't buy bread any fresher than that. Great shot of the stalls with their fresh dried goods, wonderful colours they are.
