Photoworld E-Publication- how to activate ?

Unread post by aster »

Hi, :)

After completing my payment process for the YUDU, online version of PHOTOWORLD I still seem to be having a problem to view the latest issue; my ID and password are asked a second time but I still can't go to the 3rd and 4th or the rest of the pages.

Do I have to wait a while for the activation to start automatically or do I contact someone?

Do any of you know? :)

Thanks!

Yildiz, you appear to have paid for the Payloadz delivery of PDF files - which is not connected with YUDU. We are also having problems with this system; they say we have set it up incorrectly, but at least one subscriber has managed to make it work.

I'm not quite sure how I can transfer your access from emailed PDF links, to the YUDU reader system.

Hi Yildiz, :D
I used too have a link for the Photoworld editions but I lost all my emails when I re-installed Vista. But I just logged on to YUDU and did a search for Photoworld and found the copies ok. Seems like a lot of issues there, when you click on one of them it should open up in a new window...takes a few secs to download though.

Hi David,

The problem is persistent for the PDF delivery version, I'm afraid.

I just completed my one-year subscription for the online. All went fine so far. :)

Hi Greg, :)

The e-magazine page opens in a new window that's true but that's where things start to go wrong obviously; that's exactly where my ID and password are asked for a second time and nothing I enter as ID and password seems to work!

There's something wrong going there... I'll take look at what can be done about that later.

Right now, I'm waiting for my other subscription to activate all the online issues so I can read the latest issue. : )

Thanks for the kind responses ! : )

Hi again,

I never had this problem with YUDU or Photoworld e-magazine before, so I'll ask again:

Where am I going wrong, because attached is what I see on the screen even after I enter my e-mail and password ?

Should I upgrade to YUDUplus or the like?

By the way, Paypal confirms that the transactions are successful and I can see the money withdrawn from my credit card.

Anyone had this kind of problem before and resolved it?

Thanks,

Yildiz

Aster, you did not pay for YUDU. You paid for something entirely different - PDF delivery of future editions. Not YUDU. You clicked a Buy It Now type button on the Photoclubalpha web page, but that is not YUDU. To pay YUDU, it has to be done from YUDU's site. I am trying to work out how to fix this for you.

Thank you David.

I actually made an other purchase from YUDU yesterday for the 'read only' editions. It hasn't been active either..

The last time I subscribed to both print and online editions, I encountered nothing like this; as soon as I paid the Photoworld magazine was instantly available to my reading. This time everything seems to go wrong.

Anyone who has signed up for this apart from Tim Elliott, who appears to have got access (uniquely) will have to wait until I can find a way to fix their broken system. Everyone will either get what they have paid for, or a refund.

It's all very odd, I don't seem to have any trouble logging on and finding a big bunch of Photoworld magazines too read. I can select any one and you get a seperate Yudu page with just the selected copy, if I then click on that it starts the download in a new screen, and there it is, I can turn the pages one after the other....I wonder why it's working for me and others are having trouble? Some regional thing maybe? Anti virus fopar, permissions in the firewall? that's about all I can think it might be.

This is the Yudu page you should get after clicking on any title/thumbnail of any of the selections containing just the selection only.

And for the sake of completeness, the Photoworld issue selection page.

Hi Greg,

Thanks for taking the time to look into this. : )

Yes, I can do all of these. I can open 1st and 2nd pages but I can't go any further; 3rd, 4th or the rest of the pages are blocked by a second questioning of ID and password and nothing I enter in the boxes are accepted; I get a 'no authentication' warning message that tells me to chaeck my profile details.

I emailed one Tom Stone who is shown to be the customer relations contact but I haven't heard from him yet. And after reading David Forward's I'm a bit put off by the YUDU customer relations' ineficiency and disregard to malfunctioning.

Hi Yildiz,
I was just thinking, what about when you are confronted with the re-longon dialong box, use the back arrow in explorer until the first longon box appears that you filled in and see if it's blank or still has your details.
Also does your name appear up in the top rh corner when you logon?

Yes, my name shows.

The YUDU website logs me in just fine and I can actually view everything that are not for sale but viewing. It's my own library that I subscribed to that I can't view, not even when downloaded to my computer and unzipped. The ID+password inquiry box still appears and locks the rest of the pages.

Hmm now I'm sortof thinking it might be to do with the personal library thingy. What if you were to logon and delete the library then logoff and re-longon again, then do a search for the Photoworld issues and see if you can download and read one normally?

I tried everything and that too, dear Greg, but nothing...nothing works.

YUDU is not a responsive webcompany, I'm afraid; no word of explanation from them yet.
