Re: Photoworld E-Publication- how to activate ?
You know what Yildiz, I'd think that seeing as how you've paid for two subscriptions effectively (I think) at the moment Yudu could at least provide you with a logon that works 'from their end' so you can test where the problem might be. It's doesn't say much for them that they haven't bothered to respond too your problem.
I don't know how relevant it is, but some virus checkers/firewalls aren't too fond of cookies for example and I've heard some sites don't behave very well if cookies are restricted or not accepted on the client, clutching at straws there. Btw are you using 'ie' or some other browser?

You're right, they are causing the kind of frustration that leaves one exhausted.
I use IE. It hasn't caused any problem with my previous YUDU purchases and I allow for cookies for a certain period of time before deleting them all while closing Internet Explorer.

Yildiz, I have checked the YUDU statement from Sept 14th to Oct 3rd and you have not made any transaction with YUDU.

Hi David,
Thanks for checking but the payment appears to be made to ICON Publications as you'll see from my purchase history details.
Please see attached.

Re: Photoworld E-Publication- how to activate ?
That is a payment for Payloadz PDF subscription delivery, not YUDU. It is supposed to be $10 but something has got tangled up there, and they are charging $3 for a three-month initial period then $10. At the moment, no-one seems to be getting the download links.
It is not the same as YUDU but will provide a downloadable PDF of each edition. One of my jobs this week is to find out exactly why it is not working properly (but has worked for us on testing it, and also worked for one single subscriber), and how we can make it work for those who have already paid.

Re: Photoworld E-Publication- how to activate ?
Thanks, David.
It would be good to have this option working properly because it's kind of discouraging. I also made a $10 purchase for online read-only Photoworld e-zines but the transaction did not go through well either. Paypal shows that there's a recurring payment of $10 for a yearly subscription but my credit card details have no info on any money transferred for that one.
For some reason, no money was withdrawn from the credit card and consequently no signs of a purchase made on YUDU or PayPal. It's strange. Never had any problems with the previous YUDU purchases...
I used the Paypal links on YUDU website for the process and ended up lost.
I was also considering renewing my print-edition subscription but after these rather unnerving encounters I will wait until things are more certain.

Thanks for resolving this issue, David.
: )
I received the e-mail where the link to my PDF download link was available and active.
Just downloaded the files and will be very relieved to be reading those pages I had no acces to soon. : )

It was supposed to be automatic, I have to talk to them to find out how each later issue will be delivered. I think it may work almost like software updates, I may just have to replace the file each time, and send a bulk email. But only one single person out of fifteen or so who subscribed so far has appeared as a payment at my end. All other payments which have succeeded, have been $3 downloads of back issue packs.

Re: Photoworld E-Publication- how to activate ?
Hi,
My previous attempt to pay for a yearly subscription had failed because of a delay of 3-4 days in transaction processing. This morning I took an other chance and made an other payment and luckily enough everything went fine both at Paypal and YUDU and my links are fully functional and I have full access to all the Photoworld issues online.
David, what I experienced earlier may be a one-off situation but it'd be good to keep in mind that these things can happen. We'll never know why the transaction was never realized in my first attempt and this one came through smoothly in an hour or so.
Well, thankfully the purchase is finally made!
Just wanted to share in case any other subscribers might have similar problems during their payment process.
