Still waiting....

WEEK 1: No sign of it being in stock anywhere........ I am getting desperate AND my 18-70mm Kit lens decided to break yesterday, so I need a new cam + kit lens NOW! ha ha.

WEEK 2: There are masses of people protesting in the streets, still no sign of the a55, this could turn ugly!

WEEK 3: People are eating each other..... I think, they are turning into zombies!

WEEK 4:... bRAINs....

All because Sony didn't release the A55 in the UK at the Beginning of October!

Wow I didn't realize Sony camera adds were so powerful, the infection hasn't set in here yet on a wide scale, no zombies too speak of except a few wandering past out in the street at midnight on Saturday-Sunday morning, but I guess the black-ops guys round those few up pretty easily.
Hmmm come to think of it, I don't remember even seeing a Sony camera add on TV, is that the first sign? you don't remember stuff? sheesh how deadly is that, memory/time gaps appearing without you realizing it.
I always half suspected Sony was on some other planet so I didn't take the threat seriously...but now I'm not so sure, what with the amount of civil unrest in Europe, military checkpoints etc. one doesn't know what to expect next...keep us posted, won't you.

Panic over! Jessops have them in-stock, I am a happy bunny now I have bought one! 8)
Will no doubt post some sample pictures once I get my hands on it, which might be tomorrow (more likely Thursday!) I also got 1500 Nectar Points, thats a nice £7.50 return to come 8)

It all adds up!

Thanks! I just cancelled my order with Warehouseexpress, who now say 'mid-November' for the A55 body with a few things thrown in bundle (battery, unwanted 4GB memory card). I would have asked them if they had any other A55 kits in stock, but they have proved really difficult to communicate with on that level in the past. It's possible they actually do have A55+18-55 in stock but being aware of how fast these are likely to go, I went on to my Jessops saved bookmark, phoned to check that the kit was indeed in stock, and ordered.

I think my A550 will have to go, so getting the kit lens is no great loss - I will remove the cracked GSS glass screen protector from the A550, fit the kit lens, and it will look like a new body in the local camera shop window - their 10% commission is just as good as eBay and Paypal can offer, and no need to post.

Should have A55 kit for £749 tomorrow, which means - the magazine can actually have a test in place, and the British Journal can have a test of the A55 instead of the A33 which Sony claim to have sent out and has gone missing in the ether.

Nice one! I knew I was useful somehow

I was in the same frame of mind when it came to buying..... forget the free novelty gifts, just give me a camera!

*Edit
Camera has now been dispatched apparently, exciting stuff! :D
Should be here tomorrow!

I don't know why but buying the A55 just feels as fresh and exciting as when I purchased the A100!....
...new Sony technology, the glowing reviews.... ahh the memories and now a slight hint of Déjà Vu!
