The Cradle of American Golf

New York's Long island is the cradle of American golf (for the most part). I was lucky enough to play 3 very significant golf courses this weekend.

It is hard to convey, even with a camera, how beautiful these places were. I will never forget that weekend.

That is my favorite shot also.

If I were a golfer, it is possible that some of the other images would have extra appeal because of the history and perhaps the challenge of doing well on the course, but as a non-golfer the 5th image stands out in my mind. Lovely images.

Tom, you are correct. A lot of those shots are meant to show golfers the challenge that I was faced with. Some shots do show basic principles of landscape photograph and course acrhitects do attempt to incorporate beauty into their designs. However, it is never as meaningful for non-golfers.
