Zeiss full frame
I have seen a rumour on SAR site that zeiss will be going full frame within 18 months. Do you think they know something we dont?

Re: Zeiss full frame
I guess we'll see in a few months. It seems to me that the CZ16-80 is VERY popular, so I don't know why they wouldn't keep doing APS-C models. There's been talk of it being updated to SAM or SSM.
IF that's the case, then maybe Sony is going 2-track with DLSRs, FF traditional models, and EVF entry/mid level models. This isn't good for many who are in the advanced amateur/semi-pro range, as that cuts us out unless Sony comes up with an economy FF model.

I think a budget FF has been mentioned on SAR's site but I also can't understand why zeiss would also leave a steady market for non FF users. Maybe FF and EVF is the way to go but may not be to everyones taste. It will be very interesting to see what sony do with the proposed a77/a950? future cameras. Would these cameras then be classed as DSLR's, perhaps if it is possible to have an EVF and OVF on the same camera. Excuse my ignorance of such matters but I think if Sony do get it right, great things may happen. As you say, we will have to wait and see but it is quite exciting to see the advances bieng made.
