Sony A500 up to a A33 ?

I'm new to the forum and have been very impressed with the comments I've read here and so I thought this is probably the best place to ask for some help.
I need someone to help me decide if I should pull the trigger. I presently have an A500, but I'm thinking about getting the A33 body. I need to know if someone here has had an earlier Axxx camera and went for the A33/55. I really can't afford the A55 and the video is really not that important to me. I guess what I'm asking is, - is the difference between these to cameras worth making a change. Thank you all.

If you don't want video, probably not. The A500 is already very competent for stills photography, and you might be better waiting until July for the A77 - saving up maybe, as it will be fairly expensive but a very good body and a major step up.
