That's a pretty one Birma, I remember the name from before but I didn't remember the flower all that well. I like the one with all the buds especially.

Doc, I think it must be the lens . The PPing is usually a slight exposure adjustment in ACR, and then in Elements a tiny Levels adjustment, and maybe a slight curves adjustment for contrast. Then resized and USM.

Found only a nice Common Dandellion today. Rest of the flowers didn't attract for some reason.

Hi Mark - a very vivid Dandelion . I hear it is a bumper year for Dandelions in southern part of the UK due to tha lack of rain which makes it easier for the Dandelion to out-compete the grass. I think there always seems to be a lot about and it is difficult to compare one year to another.

Managed an early morning outing today to a wood that has Bluebells. It was quite tricky finding the best views of the blue bells through the fairly heavy undergrowth, and then tiptoeing around the flowers themselves so as not to trample them underfoot, tripod or bag. I was prepared for the odd pigeon and pheasant exploding out of the undergrowth, but not for Roe Deer which on three occasions I nearly stumbled upon. Their bark is also quite disconcerting at close hand. Deer grazing amidst the Bluebells would have been a great shot, but my stalking skills will need to vastly improve before that happens . Thanks Greg . The smell was great too! Unless I find field of poppies again this year the bluebells will be the best wild flower spectacular in this neck of the woods.

Sweet Clematis and admirable bluebell field ..or carpet, should I say? The perfume must have lingered on the hems of your slacks...

All Clematis shots and the second from top of bluebell shots are especially nice . : )) You must visit this heaven many times more! : )

The last one I tried shooting ended up over-exposed, hence losing me all the fine details in the bright yellow petals.

Thanks Yildiz. It is interesting that both Greg and you preferred that Bluebell shot - it is the image I was least sure about! Shows what I know . Perhaps with more overcast lighting the colours are richer?

Another lovely shot of Istanbul's floral road system. I'm sure that Tulip will not be on its own for long.

Thank 'you', for bringing some blue magic to the forum... : ))

Why the choice of the second 'bluebell field' shot? Actually all fields are quite nice but if you look at the amount of natural saturation that is diffused around these tiny wild flowers because of their colour, you may realize that they sort of look as though lighted-in-blue from beneath.

In the other frames where there are sprays of light across the blue field the flowers lose a bit of their magic for being wiped out...Maybe the time of day is not that suitable for the right light, maybe a different light at a different time of the day would yield more success for all shots.

Birma, these wild flowers are really tiny, so maybe going lower and shooting a closeup+the blue field extending in the distance+the green shrub and trees that catch the slated sunlight caught in the same frame would make a good wide-angle scene. : )

I think I figured it out, about the second shot, if you look in the centre of the photo the blue extends well beyond the trees, it's the only one where the flowers go so far into the distance, I think that's why I liked it better, and still do, although they all are a great record of natures splendour.
