There definitely are ringing artifacts in Camera Raw 4.6, as in all ACR versions---they look like halos around high-contrast edges but they are set off a tiny bit from the actual edge. The artifacts appear always when upsizing or downsizing, and sometimes even when just cropping. However they are tiny; you have to look very carefully to notice them ... but then you'll start seeing them everywhere. And those ringing artifacts have nothing to do with sharpening ... well, except that sharpening will of course emphasize them, so sharpened artifacts are easier to see.David Kilpatrick wrote:ACR 4.6 seems to be free from 'ringing' or halo artefacts, at least when no sharpening is applied.
