A77/A65 Samples

The NEX 7 and NEX 5N + EVF sure look attractive. I will wait to see how things look after a bit, but finally there are NEX versions that I can almost see myself buying. I am not sure about the A77 yet.

Suggestion:
Why can't they machine a slot into all the bodies so a "Kensington" type of lock as used on laptops etc can protect the camera from walk offs in studios and outdoor/hotel room etc settings. This would cost little in the manufacturing process.

Sony must have some really, really thin skin if they can't take your usually well thought out and mildly worded criticisms. It is what I would expect from Sony though. Sad. I see more harshly worded criticism from other websites that seem to get review samples from Sony so this one is hard to understand.

I agree with Henry. I think DK has always gone out of his way to make sure that reviews cover all aspects of the kit in a fair and objective way. There have been numerous times over recent years when DK has seen the real world positives in Sony releases that other reviewers have not covered. Never the less, it will be good to have more reviews, more quickly .

Actually, I think instead of Sony asking DK to not be critical of Sony screwups, it'd be better if Sony avoided screwing up in the first place.

There are some interesting quotes from Sony in this weeks Amateur Photographer, about the customers voice being at the heart of their future product development. Strange, that considering they can't answer straightforward questions about things like future OVFs, or continuing support for existing OVF cameras. Communication is a two way street, Sony. If you are going to listen to what consumers have to say, they have to have their voice aknowledged, and you have to respond.

There are still plenty voices here asking for future OVFs, and not all of them will be able to afford an a900 replacement, so think about entry level & mid range users.

I think the issue is that I can come at things very much from a different direction, ignoring the press release headline and adding my own story even if I then reprint the press release or link to it. They don't mind the criticisms or detached view, they would I think prefer language which doesn't offend Japan.

I should point out that Paul Genge is pretty much solely responsible for the communication from UK users to Japan. He's completely changed his own role in the company from a one-way one (sell to the shops and to the consumer) to a two-way one (be the interface between retailers, consumers, professionals and Sony).

If you watch his SONYUK set of videos on YouTube, you might think it is all official. Actually, it is about as unofficial as Photoclubalpha, and it's mostly at Paul's own expense and time - not Sony's - with the help of some of his work team. Done without budgets, home-brewed. I have had my differences with Paul but he's apparently overcome these, and so can I. I'm back to dealing with an individual and not someone just representing the corporate view.

And that really annoys them Sony officers as they can't bark back staying on topic.

It's good to see DK take the gloves off now and then I'm encouraged by this..keep it up and I might even subscribe!
