AFAIK, only the Sony 58 can work as a controller -so we will need at least one Sony and the other 5 Metz :-/Jonathan K wrote:Appearantly the Metz 58AF-1 will be updated soon to be able to function with the A900... A very nice lady at Photokina told me that this will be done per firmware fix within the next few months... So that might be a cheaper alternative in case we actually have to buy 6 flashguns...

Re: HVL-F58AM flash gun
Looks that way from the manual. Since I do not want my most powerful flash being wasted as a controller, I'm not pleased. I have tested the 5600 HS (D) and it will not act as a controller, either (the manual omits all the older HS D references and only lists Sony model numbers, so there was a vague chance it might work).

Well, I can only quote the lady at the Metz both at Photokina: She said that, since the flashes are predisposed to work on several channels, it is only a matter of firmware to make it a replacement for the Sony model. I explicitely asked her about the control feature: She said that after a firmware upgrade it would be possible.... So ... who knows??
Would be good, though.
¡Que te vaya bien!
Cheers Jonathan
